1. Acceptance
These Terms are an agreement between you and Robertson Software LLC ("Robertson Software," "we," "us," "our") for your use of our applications and related services, including Goalito (web, iOS, and Android) (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2. Eligibility and age
Goalito is for people 13 and older. If the law where you live sets a higher age for using services like ours without a parent's permission (for example 14 in South Korea and Quebec, or 16 in some EU countries), you need a parent's or guardian's permission until then. You represent that you can form a binding contract, or that your parent or guardian agrees to these Terms for you.
3. Your account
Keep your credentials secure; you are responsible for activity under your account. Provide accurate information, and tell us promptly at [email protected] of suspected unauthorized use. Robertson Software operates one identity across its apps; the same account may access other Robertson Software apps, each subject to its own terms where applicable.
4. Acceptable use
Use the Service for your own personal purposes or your own internal business purposes. Don't: break the law or infringe others' rights; access data that isn't yours or probe or breach security (no unauthorized access, scraping, reverse engineering except as law permits, or circumventing controls); disrupt or overload the Service; upload malware or unlawful, harmful, or abusive content; or resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service itself without permission. Notes you keep about other people are personal notes for your own use; be respectful and lawful about information you record about others.
5. Subscriptions and billing
Where you buy. You can buy Goalito on our website, where Paddle is the seller (our merchant of record), or in our iOS and Android apps, where Apple or Google takes your payment through its store. The company that takes your payment handles the payment and the receipt, and its own terms also apply. Prices can differ between our website, the app stores and countries.
- Free trial: your first subscription starts with a 14-day free trial, if you have not had one before. You add a payment method to start it, and before you do, we show the price and billing period that follow and the date of your first charge. Unless you cancel before that date, the subscription starts and you are charged automatically. We email you a reminder about 7 days before. Cancel during the trial and you pay nothing. If your free trial started without a payment method, it does not turn into a charge: when it ends, paid features stop until you subscribe.
- One account, every device: a plan belongs to your Goalito account, not to a device or a store. Sign in with the same account on the web, iOS and Android and your plan works on all of them. Each account gets one free trial on our website. In the app stores, the store decides: Google Play allows one free trial per Google account, and the App Store one per Apple ID, so you may not get a trial there if that Google account or Apple ID has already had one. If you are charged twice for the same plan in different places, tell us and we will help you cancel the duplicate and get it refunded.
- Renewals: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each month or year, at the price shown when you bought, until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Once a year we email you a reminder of what your plan costs and how to cancel.
- Cancelling: cancel anytime, where you bought. Website: in Goalito under Settings, then Subscription, or through the link in any Paddle receipt. iPhone or iPad: Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions. Android: Google Play, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Apple asks you to cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Deleting your Goalito account cancels a website subscription; it does not cancel an Apple or Google subscription, so cancel those in the store first. Refunds are described in our Refund Policy.
- Lapse: if a renewal payment fails or your subscription lapses, your account becomes read-only; your data is retained per the Privacy Policy, and full access returns when you resubscribe.
- Price changes: if we raise the price of your subscription, we email you at least 30 days before the new price applies, and it starts at your next renewal after that. Cancel before then if you do not want it. Apple or Google may also ask you to accept the new price.
- Founding prices: if you subscribed at a founding-member price, we won't raise that price for as long as that subscription stays active; the price change right above does not apply to it. If you cancel and later resubscribe, the price then current applies.
- Taxes: prices include or add tax as the law where you live requires, and the checkout shows the total before you pay.
- Lifetime purchases: a lifetime purchase is a one-time payment that grants access for as long as we offer the app it was purchased for. That means the life of the product, not your life. It includes every update and new version of that app, on every platform we offer it on, at no extra charge. It does not include our other apps, such as Wellito, Teamito or Famalito, unless we say so when you buy. If we sell the app or the company, the new owner takes on your lifetime purchase. If we stop offering the app, section 10 applies. Lifetime purchases are sold only on our website.
6. Intellectual property (ours)
The Service, its software, design, branding, the "Goalito" and "Robertson Software" names and logos, and our content belong to Robertson Software and its licensors. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service per these Terms; all other rights are reserved. Don't use our names or logos without permission. The software license for our apps, including store-specific terms, is detailed in our End User License Agreement.
7. Your content
You own your content. To run the Service we need a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, back up, process, transmit, and display your content solely to operate, secure, support, and improve the Service. That license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for residual backup copies kept for a limited period and records we must keep by law. We do not use your private content for advertising or to train AI models. You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the right to store it.
Learning from use. We learn from how the Service is used to improve our apps, build new features and new apps, tailor the suggestions we show you, and publish general findings (for example, "people who plan weekly finish more goals"). Findings cover groups of at least five people and cannot identify anyone. This does not use the words you write. Section 4 of our Privacy Policy explains it in full and gives you a one-switch opt-out. Aggregate findings are ours, and they remain after you delete your account.
8. Disclaimers ("as is")
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by law (including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement). We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that data will not be lost; keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Your rights under consumer law. If you are a consumer, the law where you live gives you rights these Terms cannot take away, such as the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law and your statutory rights in the UK and EU. Nothing in these Terms limits them.
Beta features. We sometimes ship features labeled beta, preview, or experimental. They may change, break, or be withdrawn at any time and carry the same disclaimers as the rest of the Service.
Not professional advice. The Service is a general goal, habit, and relationship tracker for personal and informational use only. It does not provide professional advice of any kind, including medical, mental health, financial, investment, legal, or tax advice, and nothing in it (including templates and guides) is a substitute for a qualified professional. Consult a licensed professional before making decisions about your health, finances, legal matters, or taxes.
Not for emergencies. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, or someone is in danger, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line right away. The Service cannot help in an emergency.
Your data is what you enter. The Service shows back the information you record, such as goals, streaks, and targets. It does not verify that information and cannot guarantee any result.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost data or lost goodwill. Our total liability for all claims together is limited to the greatest of: what you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, what you paid for a lifetime purchase, or USD 100. These limits do not apply to liability the law does not let us limit, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for harm we cause deliberately or through gross negligence.
10. Termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account anytime in the app; deletion removes your content per the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access for breach, unlawful or harmful use, or as required by law, with notice where reasonable and lawful. We may also suspend accounts that abuse the billing process (for example, repeated chargebacks on charges you authorized). Ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and governing law survive termination.
Discontinuation. We may stop offering the Service, or one app, with at least 30 days' notice in the app and by email. If we do, we will stop all renewals so no one is charged for time after the shutdown date, refund the unused part of any prepaid subscription period, and refund lifetime purchases pro-rata, treating the purchase as covering 36 months of service from the purchase date. This applies wherever you paid. If Apple, Google or Paddle cannot issue that refund, we pay it to you directly. You will have at least 30 days to export your content before shutdown. After that, data is deleted as the Privacy Policy describes, except records we must keep by law.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by California law. If you are a consumer living outside the United States, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws where you live and can bring a claim in your local courts. Otherwise, disputes go to the state or federal courts in San Diego County, California.
12. General
If part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. These Terms, together with the policies they link to, are the entire agreement between us about the Service. We may assign these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets; you may not assign them without our consent. If we don't enforce a provision right away, we haven't waived it. Neither of us is liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond reasonable control (for example natural disasters, war, or failures of internet infrastructure), except for payment obligations. These Terms are written in English; where we provide translations for convenience, the English version controls, except where the law of your home jurisdiction requires otherwise.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms. For changes that matter, we tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days ahead, unless a legal or security reason needs a change sooner. If you do not agree, cancel and delete your account before it takes effect.
